Marketplace open enrollment and short-term medical are not the same window.
The federal Marketplace open enrollment period for 2026 coverage was November 1, 2025 through January 15, 2026. For 2027 coverage, the federal window is November 1, 2026 through January 15, 2027.
Some states run their own marketplace and can set different dates.
Short-term medical is not Marketplace coverage. You can usually apply any day of the year. Acceptance can still depend on health questions, and state rules can limit the term.
