Explore short-term medical coverage
Short-term medical is temporary coverage for a new illness or injury while you are between jobs, plans, or enrollment periods.‡
Short-term medical
Short-term medical lasts 1 to 12 months. It does not have to cover every benefit an ACA plan includes.
Dental and vision
Dental and vision can be added separately. They are not included in short-term medical unless you choose them.
How the plan works

What can short-term medical help pay for?
Benefits depend on the plan. A short-term policy pays toward covered services up to its maximum. It is not a promise of no-cost care.
Doctor visits§
Covered office visits for a new illness or injury, after the plan deductible or copay.
Dental and vision
Optional dental and vision for exams, cleanings, and glasses. Not included unless you add them.
Emergency care†
Covered emergency treatment for a new illness or injury, subject to the deductible and coinsurance.
Prescriptions
Some plans include a limited benefit for covered medications. Not every drug is included.¶
What is left out
Many mental health and maternity services that an ACA plan must cover are not included.
A set term⌘
You choose a term, commonly 1 to 12 months. The plan ends on that date.

What makes our health plans different
The plan lists a term, a deductible, and a maximum it will pay.
New illness or injury
Covered care is for a new illness or injury, not a condition you already have.
Prescription limits
Prescription benefits, when included, apply only to covered medications up to the plan limit.
Licensed agents
A licensed agent can walk through the exclusions before you apply. Call 866-827-1864.
Benefit maximum
Costs above the benefit maximum are yours. Read the term and the exclusions before you enroll.
